To the Editor:
The DeKalb County Marine Corps League gives a big thank you to all of the residents of Plano, Newark, Millbrook, Sheridan, Sandwich, Somonauk, Leland, Earlville, Hinckley, Waterman, Shabbona, Serena and the surrounding areas.
Because of your generosity to our “Toys for Tots” program this year, over 530 local children each received three toys, one book, one game and two stocking stuffers. Younger children also received a stuffed animal.
These needy children were from our neighborhoods. Over 3,371 toys were distributed over a period of four days from the Sandwich VFW Hall. A total of 185 needy families of Southern DeKalb, Northern LaSalle, and Kendall Counties were helped this year thanks to you.
An extra thank you goes to our Santa’s Helpers, the merchants who helped collect and make those donations.
